Inspiring Mindfulness in Your Home Design and Décor
Being mindful, is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect to the present, and to the wondrous human-being you are!
This month, I was honored to be asked to contribute to Redfin’s blog as an ‘expert’ in mindfulness practices.
The title of the article is 19 Expert Décor and Reno Tips to Inspire Mindful Home Design, you can read it here>>
A Mindfulness Expert
I had to laugh when they said I was a ‘mindfulness expert’, because on most days, I don’t feel like a expert at staying present at all! lol
I suppose it’s because I often feel pulled in many directions, with distractions, deadlines and expectations that clutter and disconnect me to the present.
Maybe you feel that way too?
A Constant Journey
I often kindly remind myself that mindfulness is a constant journey of self-compassion, self-love and self-discovery.
When we can gently remind ourselves, that our homes can create a connection back to being mindful, simply by creating spaces, or setting out intentional objects to focus on when we get distracted, we can more easily reconnect to the present and become mindful.
Here’s what I contributed as a mindfulness expert (in training)…
To Me, Mindfulness Is…
“To me, mindfulness is connecting back to my authenticity. Purposefully placing memories of my life throughout my home reminds me of the unique adventures I’ve been blessed to experience. Whether it be colorfully framed photos from a fun trip with my best friend, or a chunky, rustic wooden box overflowing with childhood memories I can touch at a whim, or immersing myself in amazing nature photography on my walls, personal touches connect me back to me, encouraging me to feel present and mindful of the many gifts and experiences of life.” – Blue Monarch Health
The Redfin’s Mindful Experts have some really unique and beautiful ways to inspire mindfulness.
I hope you enjoy reading them, and perhaps, with loving-kindness, consider adding a few to your home and life. You deserve all that you have.
